Networking and partnership building are valuable tools for TY Danjuma Foundation to deploy for expanding reach and leveraging additional resources, both human and material to improve impact. A wide array of partnerships is envisaged.
TY Danjuma Foundation’s partnership and collaborations initiative is intended to improve coalition and knowledge building through joint initiatives with likeminded organisations, partner resourcing and solidarity action in order to grow and deepen philanthropy and the philanthropic literature in Nigeria:
The main activities for TY Danjuma Foundation are as follows;
TY Danjuma Foundation has many partners and the four main category of partner can be summarised as follows;
Resource partners – These are partners that are able, ready and willing to put resources in cash or kind to support project ideas as the basis for collaboration. Organisations in this category are other foundations or national and international development agencies.
Network partners – The primary value in Network partners is in co-creating and amplifying the work of partnerships. These include associations and coalitions that the Foundation belongs to either nationally, regionally or globally. These partners co-contribute to network events and activities. Examples in this category are African Grant makers Network (AGN), Nigeria Philanthropy Stakeholders Forum (NPS).
Learning partners – These are partnerships for mutual learning. This type of partnership currently exists between TY Danjuma Foundation and the Foundation Center of New York.
Grantee partners – The majority of current partners are grantee partners; these are organisations that receive funding from TY Danjuma Foundation.
The Foundation Center, New York is a network partner of TY Danjuma Foundation and together we have created the Philanthropy Nigeria portal as a repository for data on philanthropy in Nigeria. TY Danjuma Foundation is among those listed on the site which can be accessed at http://philanthropynigeria.org.
