On 8th August 2015, the TY Danjuma Foundation officially commenced its planned 2015 interventions for Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in Nigeria at a camp for the internally displaced in Jikwoyi, Karu. The intervention is one among series aimed at delivering health care, basic education, empowerment training, and provision of food items to IDPs.
In the 2015 grant cycle, TYDF invested the total sum of One Hundred and Twelve Million, Seven Hundred and Forty Four Thousand, Seven Hundred and Seventy Five million naira (N112, 744,775.00) for various interventions of which N50, 244, 775.00 million will meet the immediate and long term needs of children, women and men who have been displaced majorly by violent conflicts. The fund meets the needs for comprehensive health care, feeding, and skills training and empowerment.
Pro Health International, one of TYDF grantees has commenced implementing of free medical mission to the IDPs in the camps in Jikwoyi, Karu, New Kuchigoro and Old Kuchigoro, Abuja. Another grantee, All Children Charity International Foundation (ACCIF) also began implementation of Integrated Skills Acquisition programme in fishery, tailoring, and shoe making in Pegi Village, Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
